WE ARE NOT A SCOOP SHOP!

It’s good to know what we offer. As you can read in our story, our unique business model was born during and because of the pandemic.

Employee safety and food safety are and always will be a priority!

Mrs. Moriconi’s Ice Cream started at a time when food safety was paramount and grocery stores had many shortages, especially in the freezer section. It’s an unconventional model for an ice cream business but it works.

Ice cream is sold in pints and half pints, and as ice cream filled pastries. Containers are sealed in the kitchen and that greatly reduces the chances of cross contact. This is great news for our friends with severe allergies who fear having ice cream scoopers being used for a peanut flavor, then also used for their order.

It is also important to understand that our retail space is very different from a restaurant space. You place your order, we bag it up and you are on your way. That’s fine because this is the business model started in July of 2020 and the model that continues to grow the business.

Do people want a scoop shop? Sure. But let’s compare this to the many lovely craft breweries in Worcester right now. Would you go to one of them looking for a bottle of Miller beer? No, you go to them for the beer they make which would be some of the best beer in the city. Does every craft brewery start with a taproom? No. Many simply start with a retail spot where you can get a 4 pack and take it home. This is how small businesses start and grow. We are no different.

Mrs. Moriconi’s Ice Cream is some of the best ice cream you can get in the region. We make everything ourselves with fresh, local dairy. The experience we offer is in the ice cream itself. Not bulk candy that sits on top, smothered in a sauce.

Ask yourself next time you go to what you think is the best ice cream stand or scoop shop. When you get down to the ice cream, is it really good? Is the actual ICE CREAM really good? Or is it the experience that you are looking for? Do you enjoy being at the stand or scoop shop on a nice summer evening? Maybe it has a retro or kitschy theme. Maybe you enjoy eating at a picnic table in an open field. If so, you are really paying for the experience, not the ice cream. We sell ice cream, plain and simple.
